It’s spring and this means the BeCommerce Awards are back. Ardennes-Etape is competing for the Cross Border award and for the public’s award in the category ‘Travel’.
Since its foundation in 2001 Ardennes-Etape functions completely online. No paper catalogue with all holiday homes. What they do have: a powerful website to promote the product: high-quality holiday lodging in the Belgian Ardennes.
BeCommerce?
So it’s logical Ardennes-Etape competes in the 2013 BeCommerce Awards. The best webshops in the country are participating every year to win the prize from the professional jury and from the audience in several categories.
Ardennes-Etape is going for victory of the audience award in the category Travel and the professional jury’s award for best ‘Cross Border Webshop’.
Quality Label
Ardennes-Etape, a small business from Stavelot in the province of Liège, has been BeCommerce member since 2011. All connected webshops are thoroughly audited and rewarded a certificate. This label is a proof of reliability for potential customers.
Travel
Throughout the years, Ardennes-Etape established a market leader position in the rental of holiday cottages in the Ardennes.
Just as the user-friendly website, Ardennes-Etape boasts its expertise in tourism in the region.
Cross Border
The main target groups for Ardennes-Etape are Flanders and The Netherlands. In the next years, the focus will be placed more and more on Germany, France and the United Kingdom. A full revision of the website in German and English are key elements in this renewed strategy. There’s still a margin for improvement with regard to search engine optimization in these languages.
In Short
It goes without saying Ardennes-Etape is not going to be satisfied with a runner-up position. This webshop of the very first hour is constantly using its know-how and creativity to stay innovative leader in the industry.
The BeCommerce Awards ceremony will be held on 15 May in the Colonial Palace in Tervuren. Voting is possible from 22 April to 8 May on www.BeCommerce.be.
