“Follow the beer trail!” by Ardennes-Etape

Val-Dieu, Bellevaux, La Chouffe, Orval, Rochefort, Bocq, Maredsous, Chimay… Eight first-class beers, eight Ardennes breweries with an excellent reputation for their delicious brews. They are famous far outside our tiny country and the region of the Belgian Ardennes.

Malmedy Tripel, an Orval Trappist or a Chimay Dorée… The tourists just love it!

Ardennes-Etape decided to meet the many demands by holiday-makers and presents: the beer trail! From Aubel over Houffalize and Orval to Maredsous and Chimay. Eight breweries to visit and where to try the most delicious Belgian beers.

Geeraard Peeters, journalist at Ardennes-Etape, took the initiative: “What is more delightful than enjoying a great Belgian beer on a bright summer day? The demand from our holiday-makers on the regional beers was quite high. And we absolutely understand. The French have their wine route, we have our beer route”, he tells us with a big smile.

Nobody will claim the contrary: concluding the day with a cold beer on the terrace in a beautiful region, it’s an absolute must.

Pick up your pen and introduce your readers to some great Belgian beers.
